Before I say anything, I just want to say that I stole "Deus ex Machina, Baby!" from Chris Whetstone and his excellent noir parody, A Gun Full of Death. Credit where credit's due, sucka-punk (and don't ask where I stole "sucka-punk" from, you'll be very disappointed in me).
I just put the comic up and I feel the need to explain something:
I had too much fun writing/drawing this comic. I'm having too much fun defining folklore in the IC-universe. Can you tell? If you're still reading the comic, be prepared to watch me claim and personify every literary term and storytelling convention. I'm on safari and I'm taggin' and baggin' for the IC-universe.
This isn't the first time I've used my version of the Deus ex Machina - nothing more than an ambiguous ball of light. I first used it in my week long series of Joe and Monkey guest strips about a year ago and I've been itching to use it for myself ever since.
So yea, there's a lot of seperate storylines going on in the comic now. I am enjoying myself fully!
A word about Dionysia, the response so far has been great! We currently have two hours of short films to show (not counting set up time and presentations) of our six hour goal. This is also semi-grassroots - tell everyone you can about Dionysia, they don't need to attend the festival to have something shown! Anyone and everyone with a movie to show is welcome to show it! Spread the word!
OK, and on that note, I'm going to check showtimes for "A Prairie Home Companion" and head out for that. I figured I'd wait a day on "Cars," to judge people's reaction to the movie before I see it. (No, I'm not expecting bad reviews to start coming in on a Pixar film, but I must admit, I'm not that excited to see the movie.)
